Wolfgang’s World Tour begins far away. A familiar melody emerges—recognizably Mozart’s Rondo alla Turca, yet incomplete, as though carried on the wind. Phrases appear in fragments, with gaps and silences. Gradually, the texture fills in and the sound comes into focus. When the music finally arrives in full, it is no longer bound to the 18th century; Mozart has become a traveler.
What follows is a whirlwind journey across styles, cultures, and eras. His iconic piece is reimagined again and again as it passes through a kaleidoscope of musical languages. Along the way, Mozart finds himself in the worlds of Motown and funk, slips into Latin jazz, ventures into boogie-woogie and gospel, and even brushes up against the avant-garde and the grand Romantic tradition.
Originally conceived under a much less dignified title, Wolfgang’s World Tour embraces both humor and imagination, bringing Mozart’s spirit of endless curiosity into the present day.
