The Canadian comedy band The Arrogant Worms wrote “The Last Saskatchewan Pirate” in 1992. The lyrics tell the tale of a prairie farmer who, fed up with crop prices and taxes, abandons his tractor for a boat on the Saskatchewan River and proudly reinvents himself as the most improbable pirate in Canada.
